Little Deuce Coupe and Dreams - They Do Come True

My early teen dreams?  Cars, The Beach Boys and girls. What could be any better?

Way back in 1963, I bought the Beach Boys fourth album Little Deuce Coupe.  It was my Freshman year at Newton Community High School.  I can remember putting my NICKLES in the Juke Box and selecting and playing the same song twice. It was such a cool sogn and I was sure all would love to hear it mutiple times!

Well, fast forward to Funfest 2005 and I had the priveledge of meeting and introducing The Beach Boys, live and on stage at Corvette Funfest.  For that event I drug out my original album and had Mike Love and crew autograph it for the MYGarage Collection.  Now that in iself for me is a neat deal!

Now fast forward to 2011 Amelia Island Concours and what did I find there?  Nothing less than the Little Deuce Coupe. When I had the photo of me sitting in the car, my mind was back to those teenage days and I felt many decades younger!  And also proved to myself that dreans really do come true!

The picture featured on the front cover of the album (below) was supplied by Hot Rod Magazine, and features the customized three-window 1932 Ford Coupe - known forevermore amongst hot rod enthusiasts as "The lil' Deuce Coupe". A full shot of this car, from the same photo shoot appeared on the front cover of the July 1961 edition of Hot Rod magazine.  The Deuce Coupe and 36 other Cover Cars of Hot Rod Magazine were on display at the Amelia Island Concours this year.

    Mike,
I've owned many Vettes over the years and your company products have been invaluable. Question? I've sent pictures of my "Spirit of America" 1967 Coupe and would like to have it on a page someplace. Now your summer catalog has a picture of the 65'Austin Powers Shagwell car? Really? PLEASE check out our car at www.myspiritofamerica.com for the real deal.
