NEW VW Cabrio in the MYGarage Collection - Come See it at VW Funfest
I have a NEW VW Cabriolet, and boy am I excited. Come to our VW Funfest and check it out. Below you can read what the seller told me about his "CABRIO", and I think you will be equally excited about a really cool ride and our newest edition to the MYGarage Museum.

"Let me give you a little background on the car and then details on the car itself as it is today.
I worked for Volkswagen of America from 1970 to 1994. One of my stints was in Ann Arbor, MI from 1975 to 1983 where I was the company liaison representative to the EPA, whose emission and fuel economy technical staff is in AA. My '77 Beetle convertible was a VWAG "emission certification car" and, after that process was done it was to be sold, I bought it directly from VWoA processed through the local dealer, Howard Cooper VW in AA. I am the first and only retail owner of this car.
The car was built at Karmann in August 1976 early in the start of 1977 MY production, and the final sale to me was on December 13, 1977. The odometer reading on the car when I bought it was 3,986 miles; today the odo. reads 7,502 miles (Let me mention that the odo stopped working and I was very fortunate to have the original speedo cluster fixed. The car has about 300 more miles on it than show--full disclosure here!)
I have the original Owners Manual and also the Warranty & Maintenance Booklet stamped by Howard Cooper VW with the delivery date Dec. 13, 1977. I have the Bill of Sale in the form of a MI Application for Title: I borrowed money to buy it so I have the bank agreement; I have the original MI Title issued on 01/11/78. I do not have a Monroney/window price sticker. The car is now registered in CT.
As to the car:
You can see from the photos it is Black with Tan interior and top. This combo was NOT offered in the US--only triple black--so the car is very unique in this regard.
Everything on the car works! The car is an original survivor and is very complete with all labels and stickers everywhere. The paint is original. The interior is all original. The steering wheel is a European market sport wheel never offered in the US.
The car has AC, but I have removed the compressor drive belt. The wheels are 5 1/2 inch wide sport-wheels (I also have the original 4 1/2 inch wide) and tires are 175/70 Pirelli radials. Chrome trim rings are from Europe. Headlights are European Hella H4 replacing the original sealed beams. The car was built as a California-version and therefore, back in 1977, came with a catalytic converter, which I have removed and installed a factory designed exhaust pipe section (a "zwischen rohr") which was used for tourist delivery cars operating in Europe without unleaded fuel. The exhaust note is somewhat different due to the shorter muffler. I have the original catalyst. I just put in a new battery back in March. In 2006 the brakes where completely gone through and the system flushed, and I've had some other minor things fixed.

My car has never seen snow; has been in rain only when I got surprised by Mother Nature; has been garaged since I owned it, and most every winter in a heated garage.
I would love to see my car in your hands since I know it would be preserved and taken care of for you and others to enjoy. The Beetle holds a very prominent place in the history of the World and also of the US. It was the Beetle that first established the role of a small compact car in American households and led US car companies into the development of small cars to compete withe the Beetle's popularity and market acceptance."
