Effingham Residents Now Offering "Bed & Breakfast Style Accommodations" to Corvette Funfest Attendees
I just received the following release from the Effingham Chamber of Commerce:
The 2009 Corvette Funfest is coming up September 25-27 and promises to be bigger and better than ever as Mid America Motorworks celebrates its 35th anniversary and Chief Cheerleader Mike Yager celebrates his 60th birthday.
Miles of Corvettes and thousands of Corvette fans will converge on Effingham to enjoy the popular Funfest events & entertainment, plus take advantage of new events such as the 1st Annual All Corvette Auction, Exhaust Sound off Competition and Corvette Fun Run.
Local hotels fill up quickly forcing many visitors to find accommodations far away from Effingham.
To promote Effingham County and keep tourism dollars in our community, the Chamber has implemented a "Bed & Breakfast" program to accommodate more visitors locally. Local residents can help support the Corvette Funfest and welcome these guests to our community by opening up their homes for private rentals.
Effingham residents can logon to www.funfesthousing.com to register their home or rooms in their homes for rental purposes for Funfest weekend only. The details of the rental agreement, such as price, contract and deposit will be handled between the homeowner and renter.
The housing website contains a section of frequently asked questions and also has links to other useful web sites including Mid America Motorworks, city hotels, the City of Effingham and the Chamber.
Individuals without computer access or just looking for more information, please contact the Chamber office at 217/342.4147 or stop by and pick up registration information.
"I would personally like to thank the Effingham Chamber of Commerce office for making this project become a reality."
