Corvette Enthusiasm. When Did It Start For You?

In preparation for my companiy's 35th Anniversary,  (Mid America Motorworks), I decided to rerun an old advertising campaign that used our two sons, Michael and Blake, as the models and central theme of the ads. This ad campaign has several underlying ideas.  One, the idea and the innocence of two young boys finding a ports car in a barn, and sneaking a "peak".  As the program progresses, month by month, they explore the old barn, and share that "find" with the other brother.  The next month one brother dares the other to "take off" the cover, followed once again a month later by a "Double Dog Dare" to get in.  The sixth and final ad shows the two brothers "Imagining the ride of THEIR life.

This is just such a typical examle of how the lust for ownership of a Corvette started for many of us. That first "find", "ride", or sighting of a Corvette, and we were imprinted for life.  This is exactly what we are asking our Corvette customers to share with us, their story of Corvette ownership, and what started that journey of Corvette ownership in their lives.

Our current ads now, and over the next nine months, will continue to portray that find in the barn, but at the same time, ask our customers and other Corvette owners to send us their story and related pictures. Your story will be edited and placed into a hardbound book that will be used at Corvette Funfest 2009 and for our 35th Anniversary celebration.
